MURAL
PAINTINGS (photo gallery)
ZIO JOHNO'S Spaghetti House,
5411 Center Point Rd. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA
Artists: Liz Allison, Dorothy Fredericks and Jonathan Hoppes
The painted wall murals are on four interior walls of Zio Johno's Spaghetti House. The
restaurant is located one block south off of Blairs Ferry Road in Cedar Rapids, IA. Turn left
at the corner of Blairs Ferry Road and Center Point Road. Turn right (south), go nearly one
block and the restaurant is located on the right side of the street.
The Mr. and Mrs. Zio Johno are wooden handcut
painted cutouts shown holding plates noting several
of the food items that are available at Zio Johno's Spaghetti House.
Above is a short wall of the restaurant that was
painted with a view from the ocean front of a ship
leaving the harbor.
After tables are painted two coats of clear acrylic coating are applied to the table top.
Two tables have been painted and coated with two more are to be completed. These tables line the center aisle of the restaurant.
The restaurant mural above includes a green fabric overhang above the
painted wall mural.
This is the latest table that has been painted and
also covered with a clear acrylic coat.
We delivered this photo to Zio Johno's this past Friday night (7/8/01). And brought home another one to
be painted.
